About Me

Hi, I’m Daniel Prosianikov - a fractional CTO and Solution Architect with roots in Kyiv, Ukraine, now based in Barcelona. For nearly two decades, I’ve been immersed in technology — from writing my first lines of code as a kid to building production-grade systems for startups and scale-ups worldwide.

A path shaped by curiosity

My journey began at 12, when a teacher at my math lyceum introduced us to Logo - a simple programming language that let us draw shapes using commands, loops, and angles. I was instantly fascinated. Soon after, I picked up BASIC and Pascal, and built my first game: a DOS pixel arkanoid. It felt like creating something magical from scratch.

By the time I was still in lyceum, I was experimenting with HTML, JavaScript, and WordPress - even landing freelance jobs. One of the most formative projects was a knowledge assessment system I developed for my school. Seeing my classmates actually use something I built sparked a deep sense of purpose. Code wasn’t just a toy - it could be real, useful, and impactful.

Building systems from the ground up

I pursued my passion further at Ukraine’s top technical university, where I studied software for automation and control systems. This gave me a deeper understanding of how complex, interconnected systems work - both in theory and in practice. My academic work and hands-on projects evolved side by side, reinforcing each other and shaping the way I approach technology to this day.

Since then, I’ve worked across startups, R&D departments, and product teams, helping to bring innovative ideas to life. My experience spans multiple industries, including:

  • IoT and industrial automation

  • AI and computer vision

  • Healthcare and wellness tech

  • Smart energy systems

What I Believe

Through all these years, one thing has remained constant:

Technology is just a tool - what matters is solving the right problem.

That belief drives the way I build. I always aim to think beyond implementation and ask:

  • Why are we building this?

  • Who will use it, and how?

  • How would I feel using it, if I were them?

That mindset is what I bring to every collaboration - whether I’m leading as a fractional CTO, designing system architecture, or helping a team take their idea from messy sketch to working product.

As a CPO, I have had the privilege of working alongside some of the brightest minds in engineering and product development. Among them, Daniel stands out as one of the most exceptional talents I have ever encountered. Over the past two years, I have not only had the opportunity to collaborate with him but also to learn from his vast depth of knowledge, insatiable curiosity, and systems-level thinking. What sets Daniel apart is his ability to operate at multiple altitudes of problem-solving. He can zoom out to challenge first-principles assumptions, ensuring that every decision aligns with the core purpose of the product and the needs of its users. Simultaneously, he can zoom in with surgical precision to refine the nuances of a feature, troubleshoot integrations between hardware, cloud, and application layers, or guide team members through highly technical roadblocks.

You may have heard about Ninja coders. They are the ones that always pull off the impossibles. Daniel is a Ninja Coder AND even more unique, he is an absolute blast to work with in the trenches. He's fun, smart, and resourceful. I could not recommend him more and this is coming from someone that has worked with hundreds of engineers over the last 20 years. You want and need a Daniel on your team if you're going to build hard things.
