As a Solution Architect, I led the creation of a revolutionary cold therapy platform, combining a smart IoT-connected chiller with a user-friendly mobile app. Built entirely from scratch, the system empowers people to safely and effectively embrace cold therapy at home — backed by robust cloud infrastructure and real-time device control. Every decision was guided by a deeply product- and user-centric mindset, ensuring both scalability and delight.

By providing technical leadership across backend, frontend, mobile, and hardware teams, I helped deliver:
Fast data querying with a hybrid architecture (Athena + Timestream)

⚙️ Key Challenges & Strategic Solutions
1. Cloud-First Architecture and Plug&Play Provisioning
Challenge:
Ensure full remote control of the device after initial provisioning — no local connectivity fallback.
Solutions:
Developed a provisioning mechanism via custom TCP that transitions devices to exclusive AWS IoT Core (MQTT + Shadow) communication. Created a custom ACK protocol over MQTT, guaranteeing bi-directional confirmation of commands and telemetry for reliability in low-latency environments.
Convinced teams to reduce components costs removing bluetooth, and organize provisioning over WiFi
2. High-Frequency Data Pipeline at Scale
Challenge:
Scaled real-time telemetry ingestion from hundreds of high-frequency devices, supporting both heavy writes and read-intensive operations.
Solutions:
Designed a hybrid storage architecture:
Dedicated Operational DB (Postgres) for core business logic, and separate DB for IoT data
AWS Timestream for current month’s real-time time-series IoT data
S3 + Athena + Parquet for historical analytics
Built a system to dynamically offload current data to Parquet in S3 Data Lake for unified querying via Athena, maintaining blazing-fast CSV exports with minimal DB load.
Result: 20x faster performance, drastically reduced costs, and true scalability comparing to dedicated Postgres for IoT.

3. Intelligent Scheduling Engine
Challenge:
Enable advanced scheduling of temperature sessions, timezone awareness, and optimization of cooling time
Solutions:
Developed a rich scheduling system with:
Recurring & one-time session creation
Timezone-aware rendering
User role-based visibility
Offloaded pre-cooling calculation logic to the device, allowing firmware to optimize when to turn on cooling based on session goals.
Cloud-to-device sync ensures schedule integrity and reliability with fallback mechanisms.
4. End-of-Line Factory Testing Automation
Challenge:
Automate production-level QA of devices before shipment.
Solutions:
Built a custom flow triggered on first connection to cloud:
Secure firmware upgrade via master keys
Continuous status and alarm monitoring
Auto-fail test if alarm or disconnect occurs
Automated data analyzer for both chiller and external sensors data
Results securely stored and used to validate production batches.
5.Building a Rich, Engaging User Experience
Challenge:
Automate production-level QA of devices before shipment.
Solutions:
Closely collaborated with the CPO, continuously refining and expanding ideas to create a more engaging, user-centric experience.
Designed a multi-faceted app experience including:
Personalized coaching sessions with audio guidance
Achievement system with dynamic badge creation and rewards
Community tab to discover and connect with other users
Discovery feed tailored to user behavior and onboarding quiz results
Built a flexible, RBAC-policy-based Admin Panel that empowers non-technical teams to manage app content, coaching sessions, achievements, notifications, user roles, and chiller diagnostics — all without developer involvement. The Admin Panel was designed for rapid iteration, operational scalability, and full control over both the app ecosystem and connected devices, serving as a critical internal tool for supporting the product’s growth and evolution.

Firmware OTA Updates: Robust device versioning with cloud-triggered updates.
Shared Models & CI/CD: Used Swagger specs across mobile/web/backend, integrated into release pipelines generating DTOs based on API autogenerated documentation.
Beta Launch & Coaching: Contributed to go-to-market strategy with closed beta and guided onboarding using audio content.
Alarms & Notification System: Debounce logic to avoid duplicate alarms; structured tabs (active, unread, read); Slack alerting for critical issues.
